About

Music Market is a home for the Victorian music industry – a place to come together to learn, collaborate and do business. As the beating heart that celebrates and champions Victorian music, Music Market connects the industry and nurtures the growth, relevance and sustainability of the sector.

 

Housed over two levels within the Collingwood Yards precinct, Music Market features event and performance spaces, meeting rooms, co-working areas and business support services for the Victorian music community.

 

Music Market is primed to support a range of music industry residents and partners, including artists, managers, labels, booking agents, event and project managers, advocacy bodies and other industry associations. Music Market complements the existing local music scene with an offering that caters to a range of event and business needs.

 

Operated by the Victorian Music Development Office (VMDO), Music Market fosters innovative collaborations, supports local jobs and enhances Victoria’s position as the live music capital of Australia.

Event Spaces

Music Market includes multiple event spaces for hire, with a stage, bar, foyer, green room, movable furniture and high-tech digital presentation and livestreaming facilities.

 

Music Market’s accessible and hybrid spaces cater to a wide range of events, from networking & business development, to launches & livestreams and are a game-changer for the Victorian music community.

Music Market features a large boardroom with presentation, conferencing and hearing loop facilities.

 

The boardroom is a flexible space designed to meet a variety of music industry business needs and can be hired on an hourly, half-day or full-day basis.

Music Market Co-Work is an open-plan shared office space, which cultivates and supports a diverse community of emerging and established professionals from right across the Victorian music industry.

 

Whether you’re working alone or with a small team, need a desk one day a week through to full time, Music Market Co-Work is a flexible space designed to adapt to your business and creative needs. Casual day passes are also available.

The Victorian Music Development Office (VMDO) has a commitment to boosting the growth and evolution of the Victorian contemporary music industry, supporting the creation of sustainable opportunities, and ensuring Victoria maintains its reputation for great music. VMDO will activate Music Market for hybrid workshops and events that live-stream regional, national and international guests and speakers. VMDO will also utilise the spaces to facilitate strategy sessions with music businesses and offer other programs, workshops and industry facing activities.

It represents musicians, venues, music businesses, professionals, and music lovers across the contemporary Victorian music community. Music Victoria provides advocacy on behalf of the music sector, actively supports the development of the Victorian music community, and celebrates and promotes Victorian music.
